WELCOME TO THE 2017 EASTERN UNIVERSITY GAMES!

This event is for university and TAFE students from New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory and is the largest of four regional university Games events to be held on the same week in July. The 2017 Eastern University Games will be hosted by Newcastle in partnership with Newcastle City Council and The University of Newcastle

Since its inception, the Eastern University Games has been renowned for providing a friendly but competitive environment for student athletes from all over New South Wales and Australian Capital Territory. Owned by Australian University Sport (AUS), the peak governing body of university sport in Australia, the Games are a key event on the eastern university sporting calendar.

Recognised as the perfect opportunity for student athletes to compete in a participation based event against like minded students from across the east region, the Games has built up a reputation as an event not to be missed, attracting over 2,700 competitors each year.

Interfaculty Sport

Each year since 1939, Sydney Uni students and staff have competed against each other for the honour and pride of their faculty in a variety of sports. Competitions include touch footy, soccer, netball, basketball, cricket and tennis to name a few. Points are awarded to the winners and place-getters of each competition whilst participation points are also given to all faculties whose students compete. The faculty with the most points at the end of the year wins and is awarded the Emily Small Shield!

Interfaculty Sport enrollment is easy and free! Participation provides an opportunity for both undergraduates, postgraduate students and staff to have fun and compete for their faculty in a social atmosphere!

Each faculty nominates at least one representative for the year, our 2017 representative is Cameron Jewell. Cameron will be responsible for the promotion of interfaculty sport within their respective faculties and also the organisation of competitors and teams.
